One of the nicest people I have met in the jewelry design world is Rita from Toltec Jewels. She is so caring and helpful and a genuine sweetheart. Rita goes out of her way to make her design challenges fun for everyone. Thanks for that Rita! When she announced this design challenge I couldn't wait to join in. The pretty little beads made by SueBeads were just so cute I couldn't wait to participate!
See how cute it is??? This sweet forest green little bead was right up this girl's alley. When it came time to design my piece, I really focused on the size of the bead. Since the chicklet is small, and it was very very important to me that the bead not get lost in my work, I decided that I would make a delicate design.

I am really very much in love with this delicate piece.
And, as an added bonus, I made a little pair of earrings to go with the necklace. I just can't keep from making earrings!
Thank you again Rita and Sue! This was such a fun challenge and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone else's designs. Please click on the links below to visit the other artists participating.

Your necklace really is beautiful. Going delicate the feature the chicklet was a great idea, and I love the other colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteNice color combo! I never would have thought that those colors would look good together, but they do. Your description of Florida weather fits this perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYour necklace design is lovely. Great colors for the chicklet. And I know how you feel about making earrings. I'd make them all day if I could. They're so much fun.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! All that color!
ReplyDeleteVery nice simple design. I had to look carefully but then i saw the green beads seem to have miniature chicklets in them. Very subtle use of color
ReplyDeletelovely, lovely design! what a great idea to create a necklace bar with that sweet chicklet as the star
ReplyDeleteLovely delicate design.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Forest Nymph is just the right title! I love the colors and they make the green pop. And the earrings are soooo cute! Excellent job!

Beautiful necklace and earrings, that chicklet loves being centre stage with those gorgeous crystals!
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there...those colors perfectly match the ferris wheel in the Carnival blog button. Cute!
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting to see what everyone has done! Lovely necklace & earring set! You highlighted the chicklet JUST RIGHT! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful♥ well balanced design... with a great use of colours. It all comes together (-: ♥♥♥ earrings too!

I think you make a great point about proportion, and I really like the beads you chose for your necklace! And earrings, I tend to be the same way! Always room for one more pair of earrings! :-)
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love how delicate it looks and the colors remind me of Indian Summer turning into Autumn! Great job!
ReplyDeletePretty necklace - the earrings complement it very nicely.
ReplyDeleteYour necklace is so pretty. I like it a lot!!
ReplyDeleteSweet! It turned out so cute :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful necklace! I love your colour combo. It really showcases the green chicklet so well.
ReplyDeleteYou really have a great pop of color with your chicklet necklace. This can be worn year round.
ReplyDeleteI love your delicate, beautiful piece too! I have a new challenge to myself this year to create delicate, smaller scale jewelry that is more like the fine jewelry my family wore for years. It isn't easy to do! But when it is a success, oh what gorgeous jewelry & indeed your necklace is a wonderful, lovely success! I'm in love -- a star of the show. Beautiful colorways, elements, design. Bravo Marybeth!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU so much for sharing your gifts!
xxoo Rita
What a great everyday necklace. It's very earthy and down to work.
ReplyDeletePerfectly balanced pieces both individually and as a set. I applaud your efforts to keep the chicklet the focal point of the piece despite its size. The dashes of red are striking and unexpected lending a sense of strength to a very delicate work of art. Really nice work Marybeth!
ReplyDeleteHi Marybeth, Your designs are great. I like the beads that you chose to put with your chicklet. They show it off really well without overwhelming it.
